It's taken three years and a lot of hard work, but at last, we have now begun our new adventure into the world of Glamping.
Shillingridge originally started with a friend back in 2016 saying how much her glampers would love to stay here. This is something that had never crossed our minds, but in the months that followed it started to feel like a really good idea.
After trying out various yurts, tepees and safari tents we decided to go for planning permission. Our plan was to create luxury accommodation in a natural environment, in keeping with the beautiful Chiltern hills around Marlow.
In 2017 we had water, electricity and a septic tank put in, apart from that, we have done everything ourselves.
Last year we built the wooden decks and in November the safari tents arrived which transformed everything in just a couple of days. We now have two beautiful safari lodges that each sleep up to six people. The lodges boast luxurious bathrooms, fully equipped kitchens a comfortable living area and stunning views from their decks across the Chiltern Hills.
