This is the time of year that we get lots of Fallow deer traveling through the grounds, they are always a stunning sight, especially first thing in the morning when there is still mist on the ground.
Last Saturday we were walking the dogs and came across this beautiful chap caught in the fence, it’s very unusual for us to see a black Fallow deer.
With great care, we managed to get him out of the fence. We then spoke to the wildlife hospital who sent an ambulance to pick him up within the hour. We’ve noticed that over the last few days it looks like his mum has been back to look for him. We have asked that he is released back to Shillingridge so hopefully, when he is fully recovered he’ll be coming home soon.
